Back From Vacation
March 30, 2011 17 CommentsHello Everyone! I know you have been itching for BETA 1. I just got back from vacation with the wife and will be working on it starting tomorrow for the next few days. Hopefully you will see something hit the site after this weekend! I have also been working on a NEW Launcher based off ADW that is more Tablet oriented that I hope to include with the BETA. If not it will be posted up shortly after…. it is also still in BETA form but is coming along nicely as well.

PS. a pic of the launcher so far. Notice the dockbar at the bottom and the lack of phone-like dockbar on the right side of the screen…. bottom dockbar is scrollable and drag/drop-able as well. Pretty much anything you can put on the home screen screens except widgets can be placed on the dockbar.

Glad to see you’re back! I’ve been checking this site and the forum post almost daily for updates on ginger edition. So excited! If it’s any incentive for you, I’ll be donating a portion of my meager paycheck to you once this is released as a full beta (Realistically, it’s not much… I’m only a college student).

First time here as I just bought mine gtab from the woot sale. Hope you had some good time. Hate to sound like a slave driver, but is there any instruction on how to install ginger edition on top of 5.1.1? Thanks a bunch

The expirimentals have been exceptionally stable. I enjoy all of your work.
I will be donate asap. Especially once AOSP releases their handywork.
They probably havent released it yet because they are somewhat embarrassed at how easily people like yourself could solve the poor coding that results in the Xoom being laggier than the gtab.

Any update?
I have a Zpad with Vegan 5.11 firmware. All goes except for the 3G modem that does not show in the network and wireless menu. Think i need drivers…..
Also please explain how to remove the PHONE process from the firmware. I tried but i could not succed.
I use clockworkmod 2.5.1.1-bekit-0.8

Can’t wait for Anroid 2.3 (And wish G would release 3.0) I’m hoping that 2.3 will stabilize the wifi. It’s probably just me but I have a hard time at my house where the wifi stops working frequently. It may be unique to me because there are 8+ other wifi routers in range.
