IFYOU ARE COMING FROM ANOTHER ROM OTHER THAN VEGAn-TAB GE RC1 YOU MUST WIPE DATA!- Use Titanium Backup or similar to save app data. HOWEVER do NOT restore any system app data…. ie. Wireless Settings, CMParts Setting, etc.
If you are running into any major issues after updating from GE RC1 then I suggest backing up your data with Titanium Backup which you should already have done and then from Clockwork mod WIPE DATA…. something in your data is causing the issue more than likely…. so when you restore, restore each item separately till you find the culprit.
Install this using CWM. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT VERSION DOWNLOAD FOR THE BOOTLOADER YOU CURRENTLY HAVE. If you are coming from VEGAn-TAB GE RC1 then you are MOST likely on 1.1. Check with your current rom developer or developers post to see what bootloader you are on. FLASHING THE WRONG BOOTLOADER VERSION WILL SOFT BRICK YOUR DEVICE. You will need to then follow one of the many How-To’s available for NVFLASHING back to stock or similar.
The Google apps have already been applied. Market WILL NOT SHOW in app drawer until you CONNECT TO A WIRELESS NETWORK. ONLY THE APPS THAT YOU CAN’T GET FROM THE MARKET ARE INSTALLED. Stuff like GMAIL, MAPS, etc. need installed through market. This way you will easily stay up to date on those apps. The market WORKS if it doesn’t for you then
1st try going into applications settings and selecting Market and “Force Stop” then “Clear Data” that’s it….. This allows the device to re-register itself to the the marketplace servers as an “official device” 
. DON’T do any of the OLD MARKET FIXES dealing with Framework Services etc. IF that fails you have probably restored something you shouldn’t data or app wise or not followed the directions correctly. I suggest backing up your data with Titanium Backup which you should already have done and then from Clockwork mod WIPE DATA…. something in your data is causing the issue more than likely…. so when you restore, restore each item separately till you find the culprit.

It could take up to 5 minutes to boot the first time as it is building the dalvik database and cache. Partition issues with certain devices should be fixed now.

You can download gscript lite from the Market, and put the insmod line in there, and tap when you want to insert it and use its functionality. ie. insmod /system/lib/modules/cifs.ko

I installed Vegantab Ginger Edition a few months ago, and now want to intall the update, as my market and some other things are having issues. How do I know which Bootloaders version to install? Please help!

You have to look at what version of CWM that you are running.
What does this rom have against Facebook? None of the clients work. I’m force to use the browser which sux since no push notifications there
I’ve downloaded the 1.2 zip a couple of times now and tried to install from sd using cwm and I get the same error – it gets to “installing update – the cuts right to:

I read somewhere if you remove the first two lines of the updater-script it works. Which makes sense. My problem is everytime i remove the lines and re-zip i get a status 6 error. This means its not in a unix format according to what ive read but ive tried three different editors and still the same issue. Can anybody edit the file by removing the first two lines and re-zip and test? Post an updated update.zip link if you can get it to work PLEASE!
Stand by…. There is an issue with the ClockworkMod you guys on the 1.2 bootloader… it is using the model number of the gtablet as opposed to the Proper Board Identifiers…. not sure why it was built that way…. I will remove the board checks from the installer i guess… that is the quickest fix. I will probably release an updated ClockworkMod in the future though.

Sorry to be stupid, but since my installation of Brilliant Corners just went into a force close loop….again….I thought I’d give this a shot. But as it’s not in an update.zip format, I’m not sure how to install through clockwork. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
So I was getting the same E: error listed with the new file when I tried to install over Brilliant Corners. I’ve NVflashed several times, restored to 1.2 base, and when I go into CWM and install the interal update, it begins to work, but moves quickly and hangs towards the end and then reboots only to hang on ‘powered by gdev.’ Tried wiping and resetting…still no progress. Should I try from 1.1?
Finally got it installed after nvflashing to 1.2 and then downgrading to 1.1. I could NOT get it to ever install on 1.2. Looks great so far. Can’t wait to play.
I’ve tried to install the 1.2 assert fixed version 4 times with no success. Just gets stuck on gtabdevs screen…I always wipe data before rebooting.
Is anyone else having trouble witht he Email app and connecting to and Exchange server?

That’s what I’m seeing. Also, sound drop out. Seems like after I connect the USB cable, but I am not certain. Sound is restored after a reboot. Nice ROM. Spent some time on an HC ROM. It’s nice to be back on a more stable platform. Thanks!
Having the same issue with setting up mail accounts in Email.
I also had the Gallery app or media scanner delete all my micro SD card images. I have not had this issue with other ROMs. I am wondering if it has anything to do with the mount point for the the micro. In Vegan it has always been sdcard2 and I have always had image deletion. In say, CM7+ things work just dandy and my media is not deleted. I’m going to try to alter vold.fstab and rename the mount.
I think this is a CM7 issue. Had the same issue on my nook color with the latest experimental build. I ended up setting up email on a working version, then flashing over with the latest.
So far the rom is incredible. I did have to do the market fix a few times (stop the market and delete data) and also disable the sense feature in vtl settings but it runs really well. As to the others having issues, have you guys tried doing a clean install from nvflash? No problems for me after doing that as well as repartition just to be sure no old data remained.

A couple of observations:
1) Google Earth locked up the tablet hard, had to power cycle to get out.
2) When there were more notifications than could be displayed on the notification drop-down, hidden items weren’t drawn when scrolling vertically, and also the “Clear” button was never visible.
With 1.2, I cannot get beyond the G-TABDEVS flash screen. Did the NVFlash, partition, wipe data, everything.
Try formating the /data and /system dirs via CWM.8 – This is how i was able to get past this.
Went to 1.1 from 1.2 and still no love. Hanging up on flash screen.
NVM. Got it working.
It looks like the email setup issue is related to a column missing from Account to store the accountColor (based on log info). I noticed that there was a new configuration value for this in the UI if you do things manually. My guess is the settings table in the DB wasn’t updated accordingly.
Anyone have any clues on the Gallery/Media Scanner/Photo deletion thing. Gallery pulls in the photos only to delete them, presumably because it things they have been removed or something.
Upgraded from RC1 on BL1.1 and EVERYTHING is working. Great work!!!
The ONLY issue I saw was that after the market updated several apps that the notices pane couldn’t be scrolled up to the clear button. Never seen that before, but that’s nothing.
Is there a way to just update over the air?

Great ROM– really fantastic. Returned to this from AdamComb.
My biggest problem is the Corporate Email– I get process com.android.email has stopped unexpectedly. I see Tom suggesting setting the accountColor manually but don’t see where to do that.
Video is still a little slow; but workable and in the RC it wouldn’t work half or more of the time.
The nicest thing about Honeycomb are the mail, gmail, and browser widgets. But I wasn’t able to get Flash working– which meant one of my favorite sites (ok, kenken) wouldn’t work. Flash works great on this!
But the launcher for this is better than Honeycomb and all in all, I think it has a better user experience. There are a lot of little things– like automatic login and more UI configuration settings– that just make this a really great ROM. Especially if I can get the email widget working correctly.
I think for the Email app to work properly its settings database schema needs to be updated to reflect new UI options. I could use sqlite or something to jam in the correct field into the correct table…but without knowing more about the app and the existing schema, I would be leery of doing so.
Awesome update thank you! Had some trouble installing the update but after a bit of messing around I was able to get it to work. Just waiting for some of the apps in the market to update so that they are compatible with the tablet and I should be good to go. Thank again!
The keyboard when you press on letter o, l, home button at left bottom and some other I don’t remember it’s not sensitive. You have to touch hard. Bootloader 1.2 not working now you have to go back to 1.1
Does anyone know if big sport fishing work with g tablet 7.1 vegan tab? My compass or tilt do anything. Game does nothing.

Works great. 2 observations- external SD card not showing up when connected to computer and videos files on external SD card gets deleted (must put in file called “.nomedia”
So are we giving up on the 1.2 people? I’d really love to not have to roll it back to 1.1 again…please. Seems like there are a lot of us with the same problem freezing on the gtabdevs screen…
Downgrading to 1.1 really isn’t that tough. It was the only way I could get it to work. It makes me wonder if there are specific hardware variants out there and I got unlucky….hmmmmmmm.
I got running on the 1.2 version yesterday without much trouble.
It’s working much faster, for me, than 5.1. I ran into one small issue – while adding my wife’s hotmail (Exchange) to the stock e-mail app, it force-closed after clicking Next at the color picking screen. After that, it would FC every time it tried to auto-sync. I tried this twice (deleted data via Titanium…)
After that, I wiped the data again and restored the settings via Titanium. This worked fine.
This update is working great!! Super simple upgrade process and so far no apparent issues.

great ROM here, very stable. I did by accident update youtube via the market but it’s still working. Netflix works and so does pretty much all other apps. The only problem i have is that ANdroid market will not let me download any apps or say that all apps are incompatible with my machine if I were to go in and out of the market a few times, which i’ll need to wipe the market data for it to work again. Other than that, it’s working flawlessly.
I have the same error messages about the app being incompatible with the device. So you had to go and wipe the Market data a couple of times for the device to read properly?
yes, go to your application setting and under Market, force stop first then delete data. This resets the app. Go back to the market on the main screen and click ok. It should reset itself. This will happen frequently, fyi
I’ve done this two or three times. Still getting the “Your device is not compatible with this item.” After the clear data and a restart (x3) still getting nothing.
Reflashing it a second time and making sure the time was set correctly – fixed. Though, I don’t know which it was e.e
Do the force stop, clear data, and then hit uninstall updates. I just did it and it fixed mine.
@Gyrofx, I too been having problems with Market not working correctly. e.g it works initially after a fresh reloading of the latest ROM, but after about a day when one selects Market again it stops working. by your note you indicate that this happens frequently has other been experiencing this with the latest ROM? Question, that if one deletes the data, does that mean I have to re-setup Market including credit card information? As a newbie why does this happen and is there a permanent fix?
I have a dumb question, when I loaded my latest ROM (1.2) I made the mistake of selecting “Home” app to boot up vs VTL how do I deselect “Home” as I like VTL set-up alot better? Mike

Hi I am using the Zpad T2 with 3G and GPS, the dock and GPS did not work, no IP was assign automatically, cannot use it to surf the internet or . please advise

It appears if you pull the Email.apk from one of the latest nightly Cyanogen builds, you can get email settings to function again.
I still have not found away to prevent photo deletion AND still use Gallery. .nomedia works but that defeats the purpose of the Gallery.
I installed bootloader 1.1 from 7.0 RC w/o any problem, and I can sense that it is significantly improved than previous version in terms of UI speed. Tx. One issue that I have in 1.1 is that it loses WiFi 4-5 minutes after I turn on. It seems to me that this behavior is consistent. Does anyone has similar issue?
I’m also having inconsistent Wifi…it comes and goes even with a strong signal. Everything else about this ROM seems MUCH faster compared to 5.1.1 and Brilliant Corners (except the video which doesn’t seem to be hardware accelerated)
Fyi. I could not make wifi work reliably with 1.1 even after reinstalling. Went back to rc 7.0. Hopefully this issue will be adressed in the next release.
As mainly an internet device this bug makes the grab unusable. Please help so we can make use of this great rom.
I have to agree that somthing in the wireless drivers is making the signal drop every once in a while. Acting like you don’t have a stable connection when you do. The Rom is great but could use a bit more tweeks.
I just bought different router, and for the hack of it, I retried 7.1. Surprisingly, it seems to me that wifi connection is now reliable. With previous router, grab was the only one failing connection out of 7 wifi devices.
hmmm…just a few min ago. tablet shut down, I restart. The splash screen cycles through many times but never loads. I can still get into CWM but I’m not sure how to fix this? Anyone? thanx
oh and my internal SD card is having problems being recognized. I can’t even connect it to my computer when in CWM and even in CWM it says it can’t mount sdcard…
nevermind, i partitioned my sd card again and started over. Hopefully i won’t see the same problem again…but we’ll see

When I try loading the module manually using the latest module from Pershoot, I get an “invalid module format” error.

I had the same problem at first. There are 2 sets of modules with the same file name. You need the ones from

When this ROM tries to use GPS, the error is displayed though I have Zpad T2 of 3G and the GPS version.
I want you to make the version for GPS.
does anyone else have trouble waking the tablet up sometimes? When i push the power button the screen stays blank and it’ll eventually reboot. I had live wallpaper as an option. Will try to run without live wallpaper to see if it does anything

I was having some serious buyers remorse after the recent market update wouldn’t let me install most anything I chose, and wouldn’t show things like Netflix.
I flashed the 1.1 last night and it worked perfect!!!
I can’t find a problem so far…..I have all the apps I wanted installed and working, and quadrant showed somewhere around 2100-2300. I was coming from RC1 stable, but I formatted all anyway. This may not last forever(market updates?), but I can hope.

Wow Gtabdevs! This is an awesome ROM. I’ve never upgraded any Android device before and was able to follow Roebeet’s instructions to get this running (with an NVflash along the way) in just a couple hours. I hope you’re getting many donations (you’ve got mine) for your hard work.
@gyrofx: I’ve had this issue, but it seems like if I just push the power button momentarily and wait for the device to wake up without re-pressing the power button it wakes up okay.
Is anyone else having trouble getting the email app to work? Mine dies when trying to log in to my google account. (I’m using the 1.2 branch flashed to a freshly wiped device)
Grab the Email.apk from the nightly Cyanogenmod for Viewsonic. It works just fine. The one in the current VEGAn-GE package has a bug with its settings DB and storing the custom email account color.
BTW, anyone on BL 1.2 successfully reboot into recovery? I know the changelog above says that was fixed, but for me it appears to not be fixed.
Reboot into recovery is borked for me, too.
Updated to the new Roman and now all apps say not compatible with my device. Changed the keyboard to regular keyboard. Could that be the difference?
Here’s how to fix the e-mail issue.
Delete the Email.apk via terminal emulator using the following:
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblk3 /system
rm /system/app/Email.apk
reboot
Once you have rebooted take the Email.apk fron Cyanogenmod 7.1 (Luckily I’m running Cyanogenmod 7.1 on my cell phone). You can do this by using ES File Explorer, enabling root explorer in the settings, locating the Email.apk in the System/App directory, long press on the Email.apk, copy, and paste to your SD card.
Take the file from your SD card and transfer to your tablet. Locate Email.apk on your tablet with ES File Explorer, long press, click properties and make sure read/write is enabled. Now you can use ES File Explorer or any other App manager to install the APK.
If you have issues with the market, go to setting, applications, manage applications and try clearing the data for the market once or twice.
Nathan, this worked out GREAT once I Found Cyanogenmod 7.0… As a “UBER” Newbie just want to say THANKS!.. I have been and will Remain a Apple Guy, but got a gTab to tinker with some Ham Radio stuff and see how it compared to the iPad. I’m OVERLY impressed. Now if I can find where all the WALLPAPER is hidden, I’d be fine.. But This is working out well and today actually took it to work with me to show it off.. I got the gTab last Friday and Tap-N-Tap is a POS, and knew this from reading postings. This TAB-DEV seems the Best so far to run. Still getting use to Names and things, Icons, Etc being so much different, but This has ll helped out. I do have some Linux knowledge so your instructions were the answer here, and in doing got back some of the old commands I’d forgot… SO, LEARNING as I’m Going and liking this new Andriod toy and TAB-DEV, and postings here..

i have a question, is it safe to overclock it to 1.4Ghz? I have it set at 1.2Ghz right now. Are there any issues with 1.4 or does it just decrease battery faster? Thanx

I have tried the Vegantab 7.0.0 before and was not impressed by it. When I tried the 7.1.0, man, this rom rocks. However, I did encountered some issues over it. There are times that I will encountered the Market or Vending emitting me an error message such as “this app is not compatible with your device” and the trick is just clean the cache and FS it. Wifi disconnects whenever I use the browser and some of thevapplication right after the installation is missing. I have to dig it out of System/app to re-install them. Especially the Vending. the best thing is, there are so many hidden features NOT present from other roms. I think I will stay on it for anwhile and see. Is there anything to correct the wifi discon? By the way, have to change the keyboard. I am a fast typist with the segmented pne, I cant use it at least include a good one that will suit ‘thumb fingers’ typing fast.
did you try the app wifi Keep Alive? It actually helps with my sleep/wifi disconnect and freezing the tablet problem. You should give it a go

Originally tried to load with Clockworkmod (with Cyanogenmod installed at the time). Standard repartition card, copy archive over, apply update, purge user data, reboot – tablet gets to the “Powered by GTABDEVS” screen then reboots and starts in recovery mode (subsequent reboots just freeze up at the “GTABDEVS” screen.
Re-flashed to stock, which booted fine and worked, then re-tried as above. Same results. Re-flashed to previous VEGAn-TAB Ginger Edition, which also booted fine, then re-tried as above. Same results. Not restoring/retaining any user data between these flashes.
All of this is with the 1.1 bootloader, of course. Should I try to move to 1.2? Am I just out of luck?

Actually, yes, I got it working.
I used CWM to re-install the 7.0.0 VEGAn gingerbread ROM, standard process (repartition, install, wipe user data). Brought that up and made sure all was right with it.
Then installed the new 7.1.0, BL 1.1 update with CWM _without_ partitioning or wiping user data.
That came up same as before (rebooted to CWM recovery mode the first time). Figuring I had nothing to lose, I re-installed 7.1.0, same as before without repart/data wipe (what do they say about madness – repeating the same thing expecting different results?). Funny thing is – when I rebooted from that second install, I was happy to see the new ROM boot up properlike.
I’m having fun re-acquainting myself with VEGAn again. I hope you fare as well. Good luck!
Might be a dumb question but does the dock work with ethernet on the new rom release?
I’m not quite sure what I’m doing wrong. I loaded the 7.0 RC ROM. I then move over the zip file for the 1.1 bootloader update and go into clock work. I unmount the device, install the 1.1 version, remount, wipe data to factory stock and then reboot and the device is just stuck on the GTABLET screen. I’ve also tried doing a complete wipe using nflash with clockwork v8. Then partition, install, and have the same problem. How do I get this bad boy to install? Am I doing something wrong? When you have the 7.0RC installed already, what steps need to be taken? I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find direction.
I came from version 7.0.0 and it was not necessary to wipe data. At clockwork, I went straight to the new 7.1.0 zipped folder and installed. Once installation was completed, I rebooted. Installation was smooth and super easy. Had to FC and wiped data with Market app as suggested, so the device could be re-registered.
Hey, been using this rom for a couple of days and very happy with it. Just a suggestion, before you even open market for the first time, clear that data, so far never had mine FC. The only problem that I DO have is that it updated and now its not as good as the one that comes with the rom. Can someone pull the original and post it for download please? Thanks in advance.
As far as the Market goes, I find I have to clear its data periodically. If I don’t the main display and My Apps section are hosed and out of sync. A simple clear seems to fix it up again, but it is annoying that it gets corrupt now and then.
Anyone else having issues the “deamon” sound on Pandora? I have don’t wipes, FC, Clear Data…all that stuff and Bob Marley still sounds like a deamon… what gives!? PS other than that, this ROM is great! Good work!!
I do, the first song will play just fine and then the next one seems like they’ve slowed the speed down to a crawl. LoL I haven’t tried it today but there was a Pandora update last night that I downloaded so maybe it is fixed now.
I haven’t found a Pandora fix either. Definately every other song is in s-l-o-w mode! I’ve tried FC and cleared data. Pandora patch didn’t help. Every other App works works without a problem.
Months later still no fix the problem remains.
Anyone have an idea about how to fix this problem with Pandora app. I have even tried stagefright enable-player false, and enable-http false

Anyone try Plants vs Zombies on this version with the latest Aug 31 kernel? Any luck on 1.1? I am on gtabxomb 3.3 and contemplating coming to this, but want to see if it works yet, or if Vegantab 5.1.1 (froyo kernel) is still the only working way to do so? How do I determine what boot loader I am on? I am on CM7 now running CWM. Obviously this is an important thing to know.
I have some issues when I log into my gmail account. The keyboard does not show up. That’s been my problem even with the last version.
I downloaded and applied this Ginger edition (Version info shows 2.3.3, Kernel 2.6.32.36-cyanogenmod, Mod Version Vegan-7.0.0-RC1-Harmony) and seems to be running fine.
However when I go out to Market downloading Flash is not available. Any thoughts?
Well, I upgraded today….so far everything seems ok.
Except for Nook. My magazine subscriptions wouldn’t work anymore. The particular magazines are only allowed to be viewed on the Nook Color, iPads and Android Tablets….
So, I went in and changed dpi back to 161 in build.props…so the Nook app works again.
Though I haven’t looked at Market yet…

Great ROM. Tried everything out there and I keep coming back… And I finally got data moving while connected to my phone adhoc network!
Aside from the Market glitch, it’s been perfect for me so far.
I’m having 2 issues with this Tom, first my market always says “this item is not compatible….” I have to clear market’s data so it can work again and second my battery stats always stays at 100% I have already wipe the battery stats with CMW and discharged the battery but nothing happens I didn’t have any of this issues with gingeredition 7.0.0 please help me!!!!!!!!!!!

If im on vegan tab 7.0 & want to upgrade to 7.1 do i need to completely wipe all data or can i just install the new version without having to erase everything & reinstalling apps?
The only way I was able to get it to install was to install the 7.1 update with clockworkmod _without_ repartitioning and without wiping any user data – it took a couple tries but it finally worked.

I have 7.1.0 running, but can not download anything in the Market. I can find any app I want, but it goes to Starting Download, but never does start the download. I have done a force stop and clear data, but no luck. Any Suggestions?

The market data seems to need periodic ‘cleaning’ in order to maintain correct market behavior. I have not found any way around this. It appears to get corrupt after some point, perhaps when syncing with the online market.
Upgraded from vegantab 7.0 to 7.1 last night.

Two problems, wifi drop off, and the changing of res for keep market from having a retard moment. Is this in the next update? Also, when the tablet goes to sleep it kills the USB connection, is there a way to change this?

The new Facebook seems to be having issues with requesting location. Logs show an IllegalArgumentException in the LocationManager. I am guessing this is a FB bug, not specifically related to VEGAn-Tab. But that’s just a guess.
OK I dropped back to facebook 1.6 and it seems to be fine. Is there a more vegan-stable version of market that I can find?

Use Google to find downloads of older versions. I usually use keywords like apk and download along with the version number of the app.
For Facebook, however, the latest version seems to have fixed the previous issues.
There seems to be an issue with some apps using location.
My G-tablet is seeing the Wi-Fi drops, the market won’t stay authorized problem, and Gallery is still deleting media files from SDCARD2.
The Wi-Fi drops are the biggest drawback with 7.1.0 since I travel. rajveep’s back-level of the wlan blobs didn’t help.
At home I’ve noticed the Wi-Fi drops seem to be Access Point related:
Not working (freq drops): Netgear N600 (WNDR3400)
B/G/N (connected to 2.4Ghz N)
WPA2/PSK [AES only], 64-bit hex key
Wi-Fi Protected Setup configured, but not used
DHCP with reserved IP address
Working (no drops): D-Link DWL-2100AP
B/G (connected to 2.4Ghz G)
WPA-PSK [AES only], 20+ character key
No Wi-Fi Protected Setup
DHCP from N600 with same reserved IP address
Try setting static IP helped me stay connected.
Something I have done with any custom ROM since installing is set the Wi-Fi regulatory domain under Advanced in the Wi-Fi Settings menu. By default no value is set. Could be anecdotal but for me my Wi-Fi is pretty stable.

There are Market apps that I can’t download because the Market sees the Gtab as incompatible.
Jerome, “The Google apps have already been applied. Market WILL NOT SHOW in app drawer until you CONNECT TO A WIRELESS NETWORK. ONLY THE APPS THAT YOU CAN’T GET FROM THE MARKET ARE INSTALLED. Stuff like GMAIL, MAPS, etc. need installed through market. This way you will easily stay up to date on those apps. The market WORKS if it doesn’t for you then
1st try going into applications settings and selecting Market and “Force Stop” then “Clear Data” that’s it….. This allows the device to re-register itself to the the marketplace servers as an “official device” . DON’T do any of the OLD MARKET FIXES dealing with Framework Services etc. IF that fails you have probably restored something you shouldn’t data or app wise or not followed the directions correctly. I suggest backing up your data with Titanium Backup which you should already have done and then from Clockwork mod WIPE DATA…. something in your data is causing the issue more than likely…. so when you restore, restore each item separately till you find the culprit.

This ROM Rocks. WTG GoJimi. The only issue I ran into is that I went from Brilliant Corners 1.2 bl to VeganTab latest and greatest. I use the IMEI spoof so that I can view HBO Go and also Max Go. For some reason when playing view back on both apps I only get audio with no video. On BC it works great without issues. Really like the way that the new rom works, but would like to know what I can do to get this to work? TY in advance.
Figured it out myself. Ty anyways. I would go more into it, but still a new to this custom rom thing. The issue was that the kenel you used in the latest update is not compatible with HBO Go or Max Go. Ended up downgrading to 1.1 BL and loaded a spoofed rom of VeganTab RC1 7.0. Harmony. That kenel and also Clemsyn are the only 2 I think are compatible. Also there is another site which offers the RC1 7.0 1.2 BL which just about had me pulling my hair out. Beware don’t use it. That rom is only for 1.1 BL only.
This ROM was great at first but ended up being a lot of work and isn’t worth the trouble. After switching to Cyanogenmod with the Clemsyn Kernel I realized how much slower vegan tab was as well. My gtab is incredibly snappy and responsive now with quadrant scores of 3600+. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with the thumb keyboard already loaded.

HOLY COW! Hands down the best rom I’ve tested for the gtab. mouse works, keyboard works and no FC’s or reboots yet! I’ve never sent money in for something like this but I am today. AWESOME WORK!

I wiped everything and am doing a fresh install. Using CWM I try to install and the install gets aborted.

I’m a new G-Tab owner who just installed this version of VEGAn-TAB for bootloader 1.1.
Everything is perfect except for the extremely sad issue that whenever i press the powerkey to lock the tablet, my machine seems to go into a deep sleep…and then reboots with the lockscreen.
Please, how do i fix this?

That’s how it should work, I believe. Not a problem for me. I like it that way, actually.
not sure what you mean by “reboot” but it works fine here. it turns off the screen and wakes it back up into lock screen, which is expected behavior. if yours is rebooting you have another problem

Hello Everyone…I got this rom installed on my gtab…pretty impressive…just having one issue…I can’t seem to scroll up to press the clear button on the notifications menu. It’s the one on the bottom of our screen, if there’s an email receive or data sync or apps needs to be updated…our notifications slide down bar…anyways…just wondering how to fix this? thanks

You can swipe some of the notifications away until you can see the clear all button (ala webos).
Any work on fixing the Wifi drop issues. This ROM is just damn near perfect….but the fact that it plays so well with Hulu and Netflix is sort of pointless if the wifi drops and reconnects every few minutes. Not expecting an overnight fix or anything…..but some news on updates would be amazing. Thanks SO much for all your amazing work Gojimi! This ROM really is spectacular.

Will Vegantab do a version of HoneyComb? I know some of the developers are closer to getting Hard AW working, but also Dell Streak is using the same cpu (tegra 2) with fully functional HC 3.2. Is it possible to pull the drivers from this to make it work? (not the kernel, the actual drivers)
The keyboard does not appear in the web based gmail. Is there a way around this?
I want to say that this ROM is excellent. I’m new in the gtablet but not with android phones. My previews ROM was the honeycomb and my little girl (4Y) not understand well it and is not a stable ROM. This ROM have camera and the VTL 1.7 is fantastic launcher with a lot of options. I read some comments about the wifi, until now my wifi is working without any problem. I use it must of the time for gaming and educational apps for my daugther. Thanks for your hard work.

Having similar problems to Shep….I used NVflash, re-partitioned, factory wipe, tried 7.1 stuck at “powered by” screen. Using 1.1, downgraded back to 7.0 installed and running fine. Have tried multiple times but I am stuck…..any ideas would be appreciated.

Skype seems to work but only voice for now. The two video talk software that worked for me are: yahoo messenger, and v-talk (with the other person using google talk-video through gmail.com browser).
Overall a great ROM, just the screen became very unresponsive. It was working find with 5.1. Any suggestions?

well got it to work finally, THANK YOU, I did not know about the BL versions and was trying to install the RC1, after 4 reloads,and a lot of searching , I found this thread and it worked fine the first time. this has been a DROID success weekend, I found out about the 3.2 for my dell streak 7 and installed it, then got the update working on my gtab. too bad i do not drink or it would be MILLER time.

Appears the latest update of Google Maps will cause a tablet reboot shortly after launching the app. Anyone experience this and/or know of any solution?

Sort of wondered this as well. What is to be the fate of the G Tab? There are a few annoyances with various ROMs right now, such as the reboot on Google Maps and no video for Skype.
Found a solution for Google Maps. Just load and older version. I am running 5.5 and it works fine now.

I just installed Vegan 7.1 for a friend and had to replace the email apk. I was able to get his exchange account working but his gmail account, configured at setup, doesn’t show. Does anyone have any ideas on where to go from here? Would I have to reapply vegan and replace the email apk before setting up the user? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
How do I know which version to download? The G-Tablet was a gift, and already had Vegan TAB on it. im a total noob to this sort of stuff.
I installed WeFi Pro Beta and now my wifi starts automatically and stays connected.

The market updated to google play and now when the market opens it loads and then just closes automatically. I cannot update or download any new apps now. Should I force close and clear data? Google maps now force closes, but I just use the google website to do maps now. Love the ROM, I actually have it on 3 Gtabs (mine, plus my two kids)

Installed for BL1.2 on two gtabs. The second gtab, after vt7.1.0 has installed correctly, won’t proceed past the opening Android Logo “Press the Android to continue”. The Android robot does ‘go down’ as if a button was pressed, all-the-while the other buttons/icons work as intended.

I’ve been using VEGAn-TAB Ginger Edition 7.0.0 for quite awhile and decided I was going to try to update. I plugged in the usb to my Win 7 64bit (I had Vista 32 last time) and it wanted to format it. I of course didn’t want to and while I was trouble shooting that the tablet went to sleep with the usb plugged in. Now when it boots up I just get a black screen after the loading screen. I booted into CWM and attempted to update anyways. Reboot and same thing. Is there a possible way to fix this or do I have to wipe?
We were given a tablet with vegantab gingeredition 7.0.0 and it can’t run the intuit gopay app which we really need. I’m assuming its because we need this update. How do i know which version to download and install? Sorry CWM doesnt mean anything to me :/

Hi there. Could you please make a 4.0 ICS ROM please. Vegantab ginger is nice and all. but gtab can handle a better ROM like ice cream sandwich. Team DRH made a Tablet version of ICS for gtab. its ok and did the trick for some time but they are using the Cyanogenmod10 firmware as a base, so it doesnt run pretty well on some things. the dock stant doesnt fully work, camera isnt there, mic either, and sound quality and video Sucks. the gtad is really a Phone kind of UI device like the Vegantab ROM is. so its would be best If you guys make a Nexus 7 or 10 style interface using some of the Vegan good looks in it. making gtab super awesome. please. PLEASE PLEASE. dont use 4.1 JB because its way to big and uses lot more power than the gtab can handle. unless you find a way to improve it. plase.
Currently having superuser root access denied problem. One suggestion was uninstall but can’t seem to do that.
