I flashed this new rom on my gtab and it works great other than the video playback. The videos hang up and stutter… Is there a fix for this. I really like this ROM!!!
What video player are you trying to use? I use mx player and have no issues playing video from my gtab or streaming across my network from my notebook.
Not to mention netflix also. If you can give more info it would help.
I have noticed that video playback in general is a little choppy, especially when using the youtube app.Has this issue been addressed already?

Visual Captcha is busted on bug tracker page. It’s impossible to sign up for a new account like this.
I’m also having issues with the visual captcha. I understand that some of the infrastructure takes time.
I’d hold off on submitting this as a feature request but I’ll likely forget to do it if I don’t do it while I’m thinking about it.
I’d like to be able to wake up (F4) and “unlock” the tablet from the keyboard instead of using the slider.
same problem with visual captcha. i have loaded the notion ink adam version and am liking it. would love to provide feedback for the notion ink crowd and this rom. great work coming from a non-developer. i do need clarity on how to enable 3G, and potentially log a bug around battery consumption … thanks!
Running ‘final Ginger Exp’ – this looks like the leading edge for gTab – virtually everything is working for me. Except Bluetooth – I can pair, but not connect with anything. I know this is a common problem. Would like to use a CandyBoard BT keyboard – can you put that on the list?

Camera has advanced features but the final pic quality is poor.
My wifi FC’s after a sleep mode of about 1 hour. I have to reboot the system to restart wifi. Stopping wifi before I put it to sleep works but what is the point of leaving the tablet sit unattended due to an emergency?
SlingPlayer Mobile stops working after a few seconds of play and requires a reboot to get the program going for another few seconds.
Not sure what the problem is. The platform is awesome to say the least but there are a few (important to me)things I desire that are just not stable yet.

Flash Videos Don’t have sound.
I’m able to install video players such as Vplayer, Rockplayer but they don’t play any videos, same videos I am able to play on my Samsung Epic (SyndicateROM Frozen)
If I try to play a flash video I loose sound and I am not able to recover sound until restart.
Installed the latest adobe flash from the market.
any updates on when we will be able to have video play back? the rom looks great has a bit of functionality but mainly I use it to play videos or to RDP into my office computer (My primary reason to play videos is not working, I have a long commute to work)

Vegan Tab 7.0.0 looks and feels great! It feels much faster than CyanogenMod 7, at least I like Vegan Tab a lot better.
The main reason why I write today is because I am unable to download apps on Android Market. Every app just sits there: “Downloading…”, but nothing happens…
I’ve tried pretty much everything to fix that, installed the ROM 4 times, rebooted my WiFi, erased everything from Android.Secure folder, erased Android Market cache, brother, you name it and I’ve tried – without success.
What the deal?
I also noticed that some of my videos just won’t play correctly (it’s all stretched-ugly sideways), while others play but every now and then you can notice a hiccup. What’s up with that? VT 5.1.1 used to be great with every single one of my videos…
I am also unable to connect to any bluetooth device other than my bluetooth stereo earphones. I would love to connect my Pharos GPS receiver to my gTablet and get a 10″ GPS with NDrive or CoPilot Live. By the way, what happened to Google Navigation, on 7.0.0 it just disappeared…

Don’t know if it’s just me. Noticed Volume level has to be crank up higher to achieve the same level as V5.1.
Default Videos Icon (with green color background)can’t play any Video.
I am also having video playback issues. I watch a ton of training videos and i noticed that the default video player does not show both .mov and .avi files. I downloaded Rockplayer lite and it only seems to recognize the .mov videos. I could convert all of my video files but that is a major inconvenience, not to mention time-consuming. I hope there are some patches soon to fix this issue or it might be time to go to another custom rom. Other than the video playback, the OS runs very smooth. Please fix the video playback issue
NTFS USB jump drive does not get recognized. FAT32 does.
I have found a video player that works with the new Ginger ROM ..I have been testing for over 36 hours with no problems YAAAAAAAY
MOBO player a free apk on the Google market works like a sewing machine!
I was very impressed with VT 7, but since I installed it on my gtablet, none of my communication apps work now. Skype stops at the splash screen; Qik fc when I select the video chat option; Reelportal does not turn the camera on. It seems none of the apps that use the camera work anymore. These apps worked fine under v5.1.
no sound or audio. Tried to play with setting but nothing.
Wanted to add a vote for sound issues. Works one minute, then no sound in anything until a reboot. It’s working on mine now, but will try to keep track of what makes it disappear.
I am also occasionally having problems with the sound on the tablet. Every once in a while the sound from the speakers would stop working. Restarting doesn’t fix the problem for me, but going into the built in music player, plugging in headphones and taking them out seems to fix it (plugging in the headphones while other apps are running also doesn’t fix it).
I’ve tried going to settings and turning silent mode on and back off, but this also doesn’t help.
I’ve reinstalled VEGAN 7.0.0 since the sound problems started to see if this would fix it, but unfortunately it didn’t.
Otherwise, I really enjoy the 7.0.0 ROM, thanks!
Oh, and Skype stopped working for me too. It seems to be stuck on a load screen, so I uninstalled it and haven’t installed it back since the new installation of the VEGAN 7.0.0 ROM in case it was causing the sound problem.

in 5.1.1 de sound worked like charm. In 7.0.0 I having the same issues you mention… but I discovered that you actually don’t need to launch any audio prog with headphones to fix it. The only thing I do is plug a headphone during boot, and when the lock screen finally appears, just unplug the headphones and voilá… sound works. Now I am going to install 7.1 to see if there are news in this regards. Good Luck!

This is an issue with CM7 stable as well,
1) Skype does not advance past the welcome screen
2) facebook widget FC’s if you click on the visible post.
running veganGB RC1 with VTL from the market.
Love the custom ROM, very fast. I feel like I need a turbo button on it to slow some things down. I am having issues with the micro sd. I loaded video and it see the files and video fine until I power off. Then all I get is the directory structure but no files. I put the SD back in the computer to read it and it shows the same thing, no files, just the directory structure. I tried formatting from W7 and XP, and with 2 different cards, same issue. Keep up the support, love the ROM.

No Bluetooth and usb keyboard buttons need to be mapped out. (Enter key, menu key)

First off I love the new ROM, definately best around. The only problem I have had so far is with the browser. When I do a google search, if I click on a link and then click the back button the page doesn’t reload. Thanks again for the great ROM.
Love the gingerbread ROM. The only issue I have found so far is the volume. I have noticed that the level is half of what it should be. If I toggle to half volume I loose all audio and full volume seems to be half half volume for the speakers. Still testing the ROM for other issues.
testing v7 for about 10 days… great job! cifs module would be nice, or at least nfs support… rock player pukes more often than i’ve seen – hw acceleration causes the server to hit 45% – s/w mplayer does 45% also – kinda joke with h/w accel… anyway, it’s cool!

the tun.ko is also available in the same archive, openvpn client works perfect when started from the shell – the frontend is useless.
Okay I have done some more testing. Volume is the same, low. As for the youtube video glitch, I have noticed that video does not freeze on websites that have youtube video posts on them. The videos are in a smaller window and work fine. The same seems to hold true with going to youtube through your web browser and clicking on a video. That brings up the screen asking how you want to execute the video. Click the youtube button and the video plays fine. No freezing.

Hello, once again, I cleaned installed the rom and it was a breeze. This time everything went through. Past the screenlock no more errors or bugs. That fact that it was installed clean, nothing was in theflash drive except CW8. Samurai 2 works great no lag. . Other HD games works perfectly. I was not able to notice this onebefore,when I had it portrayed, I had difficulty clicking the launcher and has to use the home button and configure it home/app drawer. The drawer had a hard time scrolling and was difficult to react on my fingers. Maybe it is just e due to multiple nerve damage. Or mitt be the unit itself. Have no idea. Overall, it was the best.

lost all personal data/settings on 5.1 last night. sat on my coach, hit the power switch, unlocked device….nothing on my home screen (kept my background though), only a hand full of apps left in on the device in general, all accounts deleted, 95% of stuff on the device….gone with no reason in sight….still looking for an answer on all the forums and sites i belong to pertaining to android, the gtab and vegan….no answers as to what it is that occurred (btw, the device didnt experience a loss of power or reset or anything, was “asleep” like normal)
Running Vegan 7. Intermittenly no sound. This never happened while running Vegan 5.1.1. When it reproduces the sound buttons switches from controlling “Media volume” to controlling “Ringer volume”.
I agree, the video issue can be huge. My files are usually recognized by the video player, they even play once, but if I exit the player and go back in the files have been erased. Sucks. I haven’t had ANY luck with this. I will try the Rockplayer lite as you suggested but man, I don’t want to re-encode everything. This may be a deal-breaker for me.
Thanks to one of our members I was directed to the app ‘RockPlayer’… and I have to say, for now it looks to have solved my problem. It recognized my files and played them without deleting them. I exited the player and went back into it. The files were still there! I even performed a reboot and the files are still there and working! JOY! Please, guys, remember this app for video woes.
Loaded Vegan 5.1.1. Then loaded Gingerbread. Worked great. I backed up in clockworkmod, then restarted. Got into a loop on birds screen. Had to reinstall. Worked again, but then when I backup via Titanium and restart, the system boots but appears as though it’s running Vegan 5.1.1 desktop i.e. the tab on the right with the phone option. And if I try and add a widget it tells me the screen is full even though it’s empty.
I loaded Vegan RC1 on my G-tab, and it out performs the stock rom, and several others, hands down. Two issues I noticed are:
1. The camera resolution is poor, and the video camera records for about three seconds, before it locks up.
2. When I attach a mouse, any mouse, the cursor does not appear, but when I hover over an icon, the icon highlights.
i have had FC issues with astro and other file browsers.

The sound is very buggy, especially when switching programs; i.e.from video player to games, etc.
The camera is unusable. The image looks fine until you actually take a picture. The result looks like an old 8bit image. My dog was kind enough to pose for me. http://i.imgur.com/SSWjd.jpg

I just downloaded and using gingerbread 7.1.0 and it’s great the only issue that I am having with it is the e-mail is giving me an error “The Application Email (process com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again” and also my G-sensor is not working on games like wings of steel.
I got my yahoo messenger with video to work but I show up sideways “may be that just me” LOL
I have the same problem as Mike.
Email force closes for any account I try.
If anyone has a fix, please post.

Not a fix, by I installed a different email client, K-9 from Market, which does no experience the behavior as I’m having same issue with the stock email client on ViewSonic gTablet

I reinstalled and my market issue is gone, but email still fc’d.
I fixed it by installing a new email.API I found on xda-develepers. Just do a search for email.API and exchange working and hook should find it.

My battery is always on 100% this only happens to me with the latest update of vegan tab gingeredition 7.1.0 I have already wipe the battery stats with CMW but nothing happens I need help please!!!!!!
I also have this problem and I also had it with 7.0 as well. It reads at 100% all the time and then right in the middle of things it will just die with dead battery and right before it dies it is still reading 100%. I haven’t noticed any other issues since upgrading to 7.1, but this battery things is severely inconvenient because I don’t know what kind of battery life I have and I don’t want to wait hours for it to recharge to use my tablet again. please help me, thanks!
I just install 7.1 on my Veiwsonic gTab and love it, but the internal is mapped to SDcard2. So Roboform & others won’t work.
I was 0n 7.0 when I updated, without doing a reset & wipe. I reinstalled to Vegan 5. then back to 7.1 with a factory reset & wipe and the issue is solved.

Seeing a couple of issues:
1. Facebook Force Crashes within 10-15 seconds of starting the app.
2. Good for enterprise does not authenticate. I noticed that the program is not picking up a serial number from the tablet. Is this something due to the custom ROM?

I have to second Mike about the Yahoo Messenger video. Video works, but I appear sideways to the person I’m talking to. I don’t have any problem with their video though.
Running 7.1.0. Works OK, but spotty you tube and slowmotion Pandora drives me nuts. Any solutions or has interest moved on to other greener pastures….
All the media files (i.e. photos, video..etc)deleted from the microcard and is there any fixed? What is the problems (Kenrnel or what???)?
As of this morning Market no longer works…no connection. I’m not having wireless issues, and tried all thenormal fixes. Any suggestions?
Whatever it was has gone away. I wish Pandora didn’t do the slow song of death, but otherwise 7.1 is running AWESOME!!!
Long press stopped working, can’t edit home page widgets or get rid of them. Doesn’t work with mouse either. Only on home page, world’s fine every where else on the tablet. Please help. Love this Rom. Thanx.
Love the 7.1 ROM. I was using the 7.0 ROM, but had issues with Flash videos and none of the apps I had before were available on the Market. Now I can download all the apps I had before and I can play Flash videos, however, they freeze after about 10 mins and (of course) Hulu still says its incompatible.
I’ve not tried the Bluetooth, but I have noticed that my WiFi drops out intermittently. It was fine under 7.0.
I have installed the Vegan-Tab version 7.1.0 for BL1.1 on my Viewsonic G Tablet. I would like to report a bug in the Wireless part of this ROM. About every 5-6 minutes (It does it for awhile and then it may stop for around 30 mins and start up again) it will randomly disconnect and reconnect the WiFi within a few seconds.
Try using a static IP, worked for me.
