Awesome work guys! I have tried a ton of ROM’s and this is by far my favorite build. I think you guys are doing excellent work and I appreciate all of your efforts. Your work is making my G-Tablet soar like an eagle! Just wanted to say excellent job and I speak for many when I say that I appreciate your development skills and effort!
I applied the stock Calendar to TnT Lite 2.2 and it’s great – no artifact. Thanks for that! Are there any plans for a simliar fix for the contacts? Currently there are strange artifacts in the contacts list and adding new contacts does not work.
Installed beta 4 last night on my G tab! This is my first time modding an android device. WOW! AMAZING! Everything works, and the G tab is now so much faster. Thanks for your hard work on this!
Just wanted to know if anyone else is having an issue with the external SD card. In settings mine always shows ‘Unmount in progress’ after mounting and the sixe is reflected wrong. I confirmed this with several different cards. I keep loosing movies stored on the card and these two issues may be related. Not sure what triggers the file deletion but folders stay, just files disappear.

Installed today. No real issues, 2 FC’s in Settings, About… not a life stopper. Much smoother than CM6.1 Beta. Tab is fast again, and nothing is crashing! One question tho… on the stock launcher, how do you make your icon density tighter? can only get 12 icons on main home screen… in CM6.1, their launcher was configurable to allow you to change how many shortcuts you wanted on each screen. Hushpup131 sounds like you are trying to update with the file on an external sdcard. This is common mistake as there is a partition internally called sdcard that clockwork v8 uses not the external sdcard. If you are in stock tnt for example the I internal sdcard partition is labeled SDCARD in the file manager. The external is called SDCARD2. You need to have the rom file on the internal sdcard. Hopefully that helps.
Wow, thanks… I’ve tried so many different ways to load this that when I finally got to run, 15 minutes ago, I don’t remember what I did. It seems logical now that you brought this up, that’s why the external is labeled #2. As I tried each icon, I noticed a few bugs. Recognizing this is a work in progress, I’ll just mentioned I’m not able to set the time… this will be a chore when v 5.2 comes out. I have to admit, even though I’ve spent hours trying different methods to load, it is an absolute joy to have accomplished this. Please accept my heartfelt appreciation for all the time you and others have spent to make this available. Thank you.
I was curious why I can see both sdcards using iexplorer but unable to see sdcard2 from my desktop. I was hoping to create a folder for my ebooks and save space on the internal sdcard.

I bought the last several Gtablets in my area recognizing that the platform is sound, but the software could be tweaked. I tried loading 5.1 from the internal sdcard and was told it could not find E: …. So, while I am willing and able to wait to make use of these tabs, I would like to get one functioning so that honey will quit griping

Have the same problem with V7.0 after wipe & install. Screen just flashing and stay on the V7 screen. I waited more than 10 mins …but just keep blinking. BTW mine is G-Tablet
U have to nvflash back to stock first…install clockwork at the same time then it will work properly….there should be more info on this…seems to be happening to a lot of people.
What is nvflash? I used titanium backup but a lot of good that seems to have done as all info is wiped per instructions including titanium backup so I think all is lost. New ROM won’t take, I just get clockwork mod and reboot to opening screen as my two apparent options.
Never mind on the what is nvflash. I will try to start from scratch. Hope this all works. The family is going to be pissed I lost all of their hard work on angry birds:(
Loved the vegan 5.x series but then market stopped working and I couldn’t find a fix. Now I go to vegan 7.1 but for some reason YouTube and other view play in the webbrowsers all scrambled looking, not viewable at all. Found that in YouTube you can play after changing resolution to 240. This is bad because all resolutions worked in 5.x. How can we fix this. I am using the adobe flash 11 from market. Or is it possible to fix the market to the new market on 5.x? And how do we remove the pointless battery wasting phone apks? Thanks.

I know i sound like an idiot but when extracting onto my internal I could not find the update.zip file. Can anyone help me, im really confused?
Rename the zip file itself to “update.zip”. Don’t extract it. I understand, its not made clear in a lot of the forums.
Im running vegan-tab 7 and everytime i start up I get an FC with process.com.cyanogemod.cmparts. What can I do to try to diagnose this? Other then that this is pretty stable.

I follwed the guide on the link posted above and aftr I installed the original rom and installed the new rom. nothing happened when I restarted my device. Now nothing will load and when I try to boot into recovery, I see something trying to download and then it reboots and wont load. Did my device just crash?
Has anyone got this to work on zpad 3g? It loads but onlty goes to the zmalsta screen on mine. Am I missing a step?

just wanted say THANKS! Your ROM creates an awesome product together with the original Viewsonic hardware.
For some unclear reasons, my tablet was failing at downloading MARKET apps (after approx. 2 weeks). I was unable to find a quick fix – so I re-did the whole installation from scratch – and all is GREAT again!

Is there a dummies guide to rooting the viewsonic g tablet and loading Ginger? I think I rooted my tablet with Z4root. But that’s as far as I went. Anyone find a easy set of instructions for a newbie? Thanks for any help.

It runs like champ on my GTab however G sensor is not function right.
It seems like tilt up/down is right/left and right/left on tablet is up/down on apps.
Also, at main screen rotating vertical and horizon screen is working fine but no upside down (no screen moving).
Is there any patch for this?

I tried installing the Gingerbread version on my ZPad which was unsucessful. The tablet would not go past the Malata screen (so 3 birds for ViewSonic tablets) and would hang there. I’ve tried many different things on this page and I even ended up somehow using the TnT ROM, which was not rooted and was unable to be rooted. This also modified my boot screen to the ViewSonic 3 birds screen. Also after this I was unable to get into ClockWorkMod, in which I had to use ROM Manager unsuccessfully many times until it finally worked when I installed the SuperUser app.
Once I finally got into ClockWorkMod, I partitioned the internal SD card and finally got GingerBread working and was able to boot into it. However, the screen alignment was not working properly, so wherever I clicked it would do nothing except for a very tiny square in the top left corner which seemed to be the whole screen. For now I have switched back to the Beta 5.1.1 ROM, because everything seems to work fine
The main points I am making here are:
1. Is it possible to restore the original Malata Zpad boot screen.
2. Why is the screen alignment not working properly when GingerBread is installed and perfectly fine when Beta 5.1.1 is reinstalled, and is there a way to fix this.
3. BTW, I found a problem with the original top status bar in the new Gingerbread (at least with mine). It overlaps most things instead of shifting them up.
i had this problem. i have a zpad myself. you need to nvflash to viewsonic stock rom (with clockwork recovery if possible).then you can flash any rom you want, works very nice.

Before I decided to give up and revert to stock again, I decided to try VEGAn-TAB ROM BETA 5.1 FINAL. For some reason it went ahead and loaded. I would like to upgrade to Ginger Edition. Is there some reason Ginger will not load on my gtablet yet 5.1 will?

Just me talking to myself and whoever will listen. Been checking out 5.1 and it works like a charm! Very fast and great features that I checked out so far. Got Market to work and in general is so much better than the stock ROM that I can’t emagine that the Ginger Edition can be that much better. Thanks to all that worked so hard on this!

I have a Zpad. Malata is very poor. I have carefully, I think, followed the instructions – all has gone fine, no hitches. Now with 5.1.1.
and Market Flash. Most all works good. Slingplayer work fine, Bluetooth HID work most of the time with Blueinput. Wifi is weak compared to original however, but about two flags.
Market work, Gmail app works,
Just afraid to try RC7 or others now.
Even VTL Launcher???
I am feeling very lucky at this point, just wish WiFi was better and Bluetooth keyboard was stable.

Update: zpad hardware is great, and seem very compatible with VEGAn 5.1.1 and vtl.launcher. vtl.launcher looks good but could use a setup tutorial. After several more “boots” bluetooth is more stable – with blueinput. WiFi still has weak signal issue.
I have the zpad docking station. Tried the HDMI to a high res monitor, was playing Slingbox – Awesome video – really awesome – but the Audio goes off.
This really needs a FIX/option!!! so you don’t lose the audio.
I don’t see how Gengerbread could be better. I went to Staples, they have on display Acer and Xoom and Blackberry that you can play with. – This is so much fast/responsive etc. and VERY stable.
I was ready to send it back, now I wouldn’t part with it.

I posted this once and I will post it again. Well done with the Mod. Just need to figure out how to fix access to run the HBO go app from the Market. For me being a Novice at this I just got to say one thing. Read eveything before trying anything. There are 2 different NVflash recovery you need the 3588 to install Gingerbread and the newer one to install BoS Honeycomb. Didn’t know that at first so I thought I would share.

I’ve tried quite a few roms on my gtablet. They all seemed ~ok, Then yesterday I loaded the Vegan tab 7.0.1 I didn’t think my tablet would ever go this fast.
Is the 7.1 version only available through the boot loaders? How do I upgrade from the 7.0 version? I tried just doing a ROM install from scratch and didnt work.

I got VeganTab 7.1.0 to work with the IMEI spoof for my GTab, but on HBOgo video doesn’t play only audio. I changed to this from Brilliant Corners 1.2 and. HBOgo worked without any issues. I like this Rom since it is has a better responce to everything, but I like to know how to fix the Video play back on this. To note that both are the 1.2 bootload and work fine with the exception of the video playback on VeganTab. Please help or add a update to the rom. Much thanks

This ROM was recommended to me due to some issues I was having with my sons 1.2 branch with other ROMS. I also own a 1.1 branch gTab and I have this ROM installed on both.
This is a excellent and stable ROM (VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition 7.1.0 for Bootloaders 1.1 and 1.2) on both branches.
I did notice that I’m having a small issue with a navigation application that I own from the Market. The app does on-board routing so I was going to make sure the app worked before looking into getting some type of GPS up and running on this thing.
Only thing is, the app downloads fine, starts up and downloads all the maps and such stuff fine, but when that’s done and I actually launch the program it FC’s with a process com.navigon.navigator_checkout_us error.
When I brought up the report and previewed the exception class name is java.lang.IllegalArgumentException. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could fix this. I know I had the program working with a different ROM. Looks like a Java error, but I don’t know.
